4:30 – 5:15 p.m. Mini Divas (Ages 3 – 6) - Beginners Class

5:20 – 6:05 p.m. Junior Divas (Ages 7 – 12) - Beginners Class

CLASS TYPES AND DESCRIPTIONS

Each class gives all aspiring singers an opportunity to come out of their shell as they learn the vocal techniques that will boost their confidence in singing particularly in front of a crowd

Beginners Group Class

This is a fun and exciting class for all beginners who will learn basic vocal techniques which include proper breathing, internalization of rhythm, & ear training. This class introduces creative movement and also includes vocalization and a ♫

“Glee” Jam Session ♪.

Beginners Singing Classes are divided into different age groups:

3 to 6 Years Old – Mini Divas

This fun beginners’ class was designed specifically for preschoolers and kindergartners where parents or guardians would be a part of their children’s positive learning experience. Parent or guardian involvement is a perfect time to bond with the child as they learn basic singing skills in a safe environment. Young students will have fun singing catchy tunes as they explore vocal & performance techniques through games and imaginative play.

7 to 12 Years Old – Junior Divas

Young children often learn by imitating older ones. This exciting beginners’ class was designed for school-aged children and tweens where older students may inspire the younger ones. Hearing and watching other students sing and perform in front of the whole class would help develop the child's interest and encourage them to do the same.

Young students will experience their first warm applause from an audience composed of other people besides their parents, friends, and relatives who share a common passion, during our ♫ “Glee” Jam Sessions ♪.

13 to 18 Years Old - Teens

This exciting beginners' class was designed for teens from different schools to share a common interest in the latest and greatest songs on the Billboard Charts

18 Years and Older - Adults

This beneficial class opens a creative outlet for both college students and working adults that reduces their daily stresses and make them excel more in school or advance in their careers as they learn the basic singing techniques.

Intermediate Class

An intermediate class focuses more on developing the techniques learned from the beginners’ class and introduces more vocal techniques that will expand the students’ voice range and improve their tonal quality as well as their voice projection. Students unlock their creative potential as they learn more tips on stage presence.

Advanced Class

An advanced class focuses on polishing techniques learned from the intermediate class as students continue to learn more advanced vocal techniques to be applied on performance pieces. Advanced students will explore their own renditions of various songs from different genres and learn how to hit and sustain notes while performing a choreographed high-energy song. The students in an Advanced Class are invited to audition to become a member of Bay Area Diva Productions’ official performing group called the BL Workshoppers.

Master Class

A master class focuses on refining students’ artistry as they learn to perform consistently with ease and expressiveness. Includes fully choreographed group pieces. The students in a Master Class are invited to rehearse and join the BL Workshoppers Performing Group in upcoming gigs and concerts.

♫ “Glee” Jam Sessions ♪

Voluntary solo & duet renditions of varied artists' songs may be presented to class

Jam on an array of instruments including guitar, electronic drum kits, tambourines, maracas, & keyboards (other accompaniment options besides tracks)

Notes

· The Intermediate, Advanced, and Master Class include breathing techniques, vocalization, ear training, choreography, a ♫ “Glee” Jam Session ♪ and focus on vocal range expansion, voice projection, rhythm,

improvisation, versatility, and stage presence.

· The techniques presented to the students are based on class level.

· Group repertoire is based on the singing and learning abilities of majority of the students.

· A wide variety of exercises will be given each week based on the student's age and ability level.

· Presentation of a solo rendition of any song by a student is VOLUNTARY. NO STUDENT will be forced to perform in front of the class.

· Students who progress well in the lessons are invited and encouraged to perform in our concerts and other events. Performance opportunities to be announced.
